National Nuclear Security Administration names new Savannah River Site lead
The National Nuclear Security Administration has a new field office manager at the Savannah River Site. Michael Mikolanis started in his new role Monday. The National Nuclear Security Administration, or NNSA, is responsible for the production and maintenance of materials used in nuclear weapons At the Savannah River Site, the NNSA is responsible for the production of tritium and the construction and eventual operation of the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility where the NNSA plans to make plutonium pits. Beginning Oct. 1, the NNSA will be the site manager of the Savannah River Site. The field office manager leads the NNSA team at the site. |
